I founded Kerin Consulting in 2023, wanting to contribute to solving diverse but connected challenges in the community. I am drawn to innovation, integrity, curiosity and courage and navigate life and work with these as my primary values.

I worked for twelve years as a Legal Aid and community legal senior solicitor throughout beautiful and vast parts of Western Australia, advocating for people living with disadvantage. For seven of those years, my home was in Kununurra in the stunning East Kimberley region, where I worked in legal practice leadership roles, collaborating for systemic progress in the justice system. My skills and project focus on cross-cultural communication and plain English were founded here, and have threaded through all my professional work since. Then, based in Perth, I spent time within the WA State Government, leading change for improved Aboriginal community outcomes through policy, project and leadership development work.

In addition to providing Kerin Consulting services, I am also part of the majority Aboriginal owned Keogh Bay Consulting Group. With their team, I deliver cross-cultural communications and Plain English work in the resources industry and co-facilitate in their Working with Indigenous Employees program.

I am currently the Chair of Dismantle Inc., having held executive and non-executive roles on not-for-profit Boards and Committees for many years.

I graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Political Science), completing one year of that program at the University of British Columbia, Canada. More recently I am a graduate of Leadership WA’s Signature Leadership Program 2023, and hold a Diploma of Business (Governance) from the Institute of Community Directors Australia. I am also a certified PROSCI Change Management Practitioner.
